Chocolate Chip Cookies

About 4 dozen 2 inch cookies

In the original recipe I used mini milk chocolate chips, which won a Silver medal in the 2000 Sonoma County Harvest Fair professional level.

  • 8 ounces softened butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup toasted chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup toasted chopped pecans
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350°

Cream butter and sugar together, in a bowl until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs and vanilla mix well. Stir in salt baking powder and flour. Now stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop teaspoon full of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool baked cookies on wire racks.
